リーダーのギタリスト、ロビー・ロバートソンが、長きにわたるツアー生活を終わらせレコーディング活動に専念したいと言ったことがこのライブの発端だが、他メンバーとこのことで確執を生み、のちの再結成にロバートソンは不参加という結果となった。
