バンド作品中もっとも根源的ルーツであるエレクトロ・ファンク色が強いといわれる1枚で、そのわかりにくさから彼らのファンの中でも評価の分かれるアルバムだが、彼らの代表盤「リメイン・イン・ライト」とは違った魅力に惹き付けられるファンも多い。
初回LPデザインはグラミー賞を受賞した秀逸な透明バージョンで有名。名曲「バーニング・ダウン・ザ・ハウス」を収録。
