オリジナルは1961年のリリース。Bill Evans(Pf.)、Scott LaFaro(Ba.)、Paul Motian(Dr.)のトリオの最高のパフォーマンス作である本作は何度もリイシューされる程の名盤。
Scott LaFaro(Ba.)は本作レコーディングの11日後に事故死してしまったので最後のパフォーマンスとなってしまった。その影響もあり、本作リリース後のBill Evansは極度の低迷期へ入ってしまう。
