壮大さよりも親しみやすさを重視した構成で、メンバー各自のソロ性とバンドとしての一体感が共存している。キース・エマーソンの華麗な鍵盤ワーク、グレッグ・レイクのメロディアスなヴォーカル、カール・パーマーの緻密なドラミングが絶妙に絡み合い、プログレッシヴでありながらポップな感覚を生む。“Maple Leaf Rag”の軽妙なピアノや、“Show Me the Way to Go Home”のユーモラスな展開など、多彩な表現が詰まった作品。EL&Pの柔軟な音楽的視野を象徴する一枚。
