The JBs, the hugely famous backing band for the King of Funk, James Brown, are back!
In 1999, about 20 years after its release in the 70s, this super funk album was suddenly produced and released in Japan, and now this is the first special single in over 20 years!
The golden group of musicians who once supported James Brown came together under the name of The JBs! Produced by Fred Wesley, the album "Bring the Funk on Down" features a lineup of JB's disciples, including "funky drummer" Clyde Stubblefield and John "Jabo" Starks, as well as Fred Thomas. From the album, we've created a short version (Part 2) of "Do the Doo," reminiscent of the funk of the old JBs, and "What About the Music," bursting with funky breaks, specially for this single, and released it on a 7-inch!
