A magnificent encounter between jazz and pop, with passionate vocals and hot horns sparking off the music.

A unique session by popular singer Frankie Laine and famous trumpeter Buck Clayton. A record filled with charm that transcends the boundaries between jazz and vocals.

Frankie Laine, a representative male pop singer of the 1950s, has a soulful and powerful singing voice that is different from that of a pure jazz vocalist, but his voice, which is infused with the flavor of blues and gospel, is exquisitely intertwined with the passion of the jazz band, opening up new horizons of expression. The musicians included JJ Johnson (trombone) and Budd Johnson (tenor saxophone), among the top jazz musicians of the time, making this a satisfying listen for jazz fans as well. It was re-evaluated when it was reissued in 1973, and this timeless session is worthy of the name "spectacle" that transcends genre boundaries.
