An album that captures the atmosphere of post-war Japanese popular music.
This 1951 SP record released by Victor includes Katsuhiko Haida's "Alpine Pasture" and Tomiko Hattori's "Cowherd Girl."
The Nippon Victor Orchestra provides a grand accompaniment, while Katsuhiko Haida's bright and soaring voice lightly brings the melody to life. Side A, "Alpine Pasture," is a popular song with lyrics by Takao Saeki and music by Shunichi Sasaki, characterized by its yodeling-infused vocals. Haida also performed this song at the 2nd NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen in 1952. Side B features "Cowherd Girl" sung by Tomiko Hattori, whose clear voice is complemented by the orchestral accompaniment. Released as an SP record by Victor Records in 1951, this record captures the atmosphere of post-war Japanese popular music.
