This best-of album includes the representative songs of the folk group Rokumonsen, led by Hitoshi Komuro, as well as the World Song Festival Grand Prix winner "Departure Song," a masterpiece that remains in the history of Japanese folk music.
Rokumonsen is a folk group formed around Komuro Hitoshi, and is considered a representative figure of the early days of Japanese folk music. In 1971, under the name of Kamijo Tsunehiko + Rokumonsen, their song "Song of Departure - In Search of Lost Time" won the Grand Prix at the 2nd World Song Festival, instantly raising the group's profile. During their active years, they also had a deep connection with the Bellwood label, and left behind many lyrical folk numbers that reflected the members' musical styles. This album is "a compilation of representative songs that show the musical characteristics and attitude of the band at the time."
