The 1971 single "Shocking You / Waterloo" by the Dutch rock band Shocking Blue was released after their signature song "Venus," but it features a more psychedelic and heavy approach. "Shocking You" is a masterpiece that strongly impresses the potential of "female rock vocals" in European rock at the time, with Mariska Ferres's lustrous vocals intertwined with distorted guitar riffs. On the other hand, "Waterloo" is a good song that shows the band's dexterity and compositional ability, although it has a more pop structure.
