The innocent pleasure of beat pop, which relies more on rhythm than meaning.
A German garage beat group releases an album full of wordplay and rhythmic feeling. Pure party pop that's more fun to dance to than listen to.
"Balla Balla" is a 1960s hit by the group The Rainbows, whose charm lies in its nonsensical title and lyrics. It's a great example of energetic beat pop coming out of Germany, a land outside the UK and the US, and is the kind of tune that gets the crowd going. On the other hand, "Ju Ju Hand" has a groove that reminds us of rockabilly, and a more intense garage feel. It's a good novelty rock song that you can listen to for its "instantaneous heat" rather than a hit song.
