A live album in which a super-famous artist pops in on a live performance by another super-famous artist.
A live album featuring the historic collaboration between Elton John and John Lennon at his 1974 Madison Square Garden concert. In addition to Elton John's songs, the album also includes "Whatever Gets You Through The Night" and "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds." Released in 1981 as a tribute to John Lennon.
While John Lennon was working on "Walls and Bridges" in New York, Elton John, who happened to be staying in New York, visited the studio and participated in the chorus, piano, and organ. This is how "Whatever Gets You Through The Night" was born. John Lennon, a member of The Beatles who had never had a solo number one, said, "If "Whatever Gets You Through The Night" reached number one, let's perform together in a live performance!" This live performance was realized.
