Lizard, King Crimson's third album, released in 1970, is one of the most challenging and abstract works in the history of progressive rock. It fuses jazz-like improvisation with classical compositional beauty to create a fantastical and unstable musical space. The first track, "Prince Rupert Awakes," which features guest appearance by Jon Anderson (Yes), and the suite-style title track feature prominent orchestral instruments and piano, making the listener feel as if they are listening to modern music.
