Friction, an essential band in the history of Japanese rock/punk, released their memorable debut 7-inch EP in 1979, which is reproduced in its original jacket design!
This was Friction's memorable debut EP, released in August 1979, eight months before their 1980 masterpiece "Friction," a shining light in the history of Japanese rock.
In addition to the two tracks "Crazy Dream" and "Big-S," which were featured again on the band's first album, "Friction," the album also includes "Kagayaki," which would later be officially recorded on "Replicant Walk" (1988). The sense of speed in "Crazy Dream" and "Big-S," performed at a faster tempo than the "Friction" versions, exudes a hint of post-punk. The incredibly high-energy performances of Reck (b/vocals), Chico Hige (drums), and Tsunematsu Masatoshi (guitar) are overwhelming. The solidity of "Kagayaki," not included on "Friction," is also extraordinary. For many, these three unrivaled tracks define Friction.
