Hiraga Marika made her album debut as a jazz vocalist with "My Shining Hour" (2001). Since then, she has released 11 albums up to her most recent work "J_ia" (2020), and this long-awaited best album by Hiraga Marika is released only on LP. The album is filled with collaborations with gorgeous artists recorded in Tokyo and New York. This is a concept album themed on composers, including the Burt Bacharach album "Close to Bacharach" with the Manhattan Jazz Quintet, the Duke Ellington Orchestra "Sing With The Duke Ellington Orchestra", and the Nat King Cole collection "Mona Lisa" with guitar virtuoso Mark Whitfield. The album "Batucada" traces the evolution of bossa nova and Brazilian music in America. One of the songs, "Antonio's Song", features a duet with Michael Franks, and the interlude features a Phil Woods solo, which is a dream come true for fans.
