"DAGURI," a work filled with such presence that it is worthy of being considered one of Kosuke Mine's masterpieces, is finally being revived more than 50 years after the original release in 1973!
Kosuke Mine, who rose to prominence in the Masaaki Kikuchi Group, recorded this work with his own regular group. Featuring cutting-edge musicians including Fumio Itabashi, the performance is powerful and dynamic, with a forcefulness and vividness that seems to herald the dawn of a new era.
Influenced by Coltrane during this period, Mine's playing is full of inspiration and grandeur, and on tracks like "Thirsty" and "Daguri," he blasts out piercing melodies with overwhelming expressiveness. Combining dynamism, lyricism, and exoticism, this is a work brimming with presence worthy of being considered one of Mine's masterpieces. All tracks are composed by Mine himself. Recorded in 1973.
