An acoustic monologue of the heart that resonates in the silence
This was the third and final album released by British singer-songwriter Nick Drake before his death. It was recorded in a two-day session using only his own acoustic guitar and vocals.
The album's atmosphere is defined by a completely unadorned acoustic space. Drake's vocals are whispered, and only his voice and the sound of the guitar strings emerge from the silence. His guitar playing, which makes full use of unconventional tunings, creates a unique sense of floating and melancholic harmonies. His introspective worldview is condensed into the short 11-song, 28-minute run. His influence on artists of the future is immeasurable.
