A superb instrumental with a pleasant guitar singing
This solo album from legendary session guitarist Cornell Dupree features members of his group, Stuff, delivering a laid-back jazz-funk sound.
Dupree's guitar, with its clean, warm tone, drives the melody throughout. He avoids excessive speed playing and instead captivates the listener with precise timing and melodic phrasing. The rhythm section provides a steady groove, while electric piano and horns add color. He takes popular songs, such as the title track, a hit with Andy Gibb, and turns them into soothing instrumentals in his signature style.
