George Guzman's Boogaloo
Percussionist George Guzman's debut album.
Starting with "Marilu," which quotes Gershwin's "Summertime" as a prelude before plummeting into a raging boogaloo romp, this album is packed with the fleeting charm of the short-lived boogaloo craze. Produced by a young Harvey Avarn, the impactful artwork is by Bronx master Izzy Sanabria. This is one of FANIA's hidden gems.
