Tatsuo Sunaga's solo unit Sunaga t experience's one-of-a-kind masterpiece "Suomenlinna" is finally available on vinyl for the first time. This masterpiece was created in collaboration with top artists from Japan, the US, and Finland!
The album features a number of talented musicians, including Shunji Takenaka (guitar), Shiro Sasaki (tp), Shinpei Ruike (tp), Motoharu (ts), Mikiko Nagatake (p), Tetsuji Shiotani (bass), Emily Styler (vocals), Taichiro Kawasaki (tp), Satoshi Taguchi (sax), Yusuke Nakamura (keyboard), Shinji Hasuike (bass), and Tomoaki Miyamoto Boutan (drums).
This jazz reworking of Remioromen's smash hit "Konayuki," originally pressed in limited quantities on 7-inch vinyl and instantly sold out, features Jukka Eskola (tp, flg), leader of Finnish band The Five Corners Quintet, along with Timo Lassi (ts) and Teppo Mäkinen (d). "Yureru.", a Japanese-American collaboration featuring LA-based vocalist SARA, was released in limited quantities on 7-inch at RECORD STORE DAY in 2019 and has become a premium hit. This vinyl release also includes a bonus instrumental track. Its impact is said to surpass that of "It's You." Not only does it connect the dots of the world, but "Futa_Ara," inspired by Sunaga Tatsuo's hometown of Tochigi, features Anna Sato (vocals) and breaks new ground on an unprecedented scale. This time, he also reunited with his beloved disciple for the first time in a long time: STUDIO APARTMENT. Their collaborative track "Rogue" is a floor-filler featuring melodic guitars over a cool, edgy beat that's typical of STUDIO APARTMENT. It also features regular Sunaga t experience contributors Yuri Dazai, Katsuhito Koizumi-P, ChihiRo (Jill De-Coy Association), and Maki Mannami, as well as up-and-coming drummer Kenta Okamoto. Sunaga t experience's passionate love of records has earned him the nickname "Record Boss," but he's also a professional drinker who loves bars and is nicknamed "Captain." This 2019 masterpiece, "Suomenlinna," named after a Finnish World Heritage Site, is now available on vinyl for the first time!
