Return to Forever's musical utopia
Chick Corea's vision of jazz fusion aesthetic perfection.
"Spain" is impressive for its composition, transcending the boundaries between classical music and jazz, and the soundscape created by Flora Purim's dreamy vocals and Stanley Clarke's basslines is a masterpiece. The performances, which fully utilize the individuality of each member, and Corea's outstanding composition and arranging skills make this album one of the most beautiful jazz fusion albums in history. The recording technique is also excellent, beautifully capturing the texture of the instruments and the spaciousness of the space.
