Welcome Home, released in 1978, was an album that marked his maturity as a singer-songwriter.
King's warm piano and vocals tenderly sing of her feelings for her family and hometown. Her songwriting and production skills, honed throughout the '70s, give the album a sense of unity. While it may not have the explosive hit of "Tapestry," this is a fine work that shows King's musical integrity.
