To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the global Beatles sensation, The Beatles' albums, primarily released in the US in 1964, are being reissued as new vinyl mono mixes in this box set containing all seven albums (8 LPs).
This box set focuses on seven albums released in the US between January 1964 and March 1965. Cut from the original mono masters on 180 gram vinyl.
Each album features faithfully reproduced artwork. A new folio insert features an essay by American Beatles scholar and author Bruce Speiser. The lacquer discs were newly cut by Kevin Reeves at East Iris Studios in Nashville using the original master tapes. The vinyl was cut using an entirely analog signal path, constantly referencing the sound of the earliest pressings of the original albums. The vinyl discs were produced using a Studer A80 master recorder with analog preview and program pass functionality, and a Neumann VMS70 cutting machine, installed at Capitol Studios in 1971. This analog-based cutting process faithfully reproduces the sonic range and dynamics of the original tapes. [Only the Japanese version comes with a obi that reproduces the design of the first Japanese LP obi (*Only "The Beatles '65" has an obi with a motif of "The Beatles for Sale"). Includes English commentary and lyrics translation.]
