The long-awaited 4th album by US electronic project Meishi Smile has been released! This is an emotional dream pop masterpiece produced by a band, weaving together roaring sounds and silence!
The new 4th album "Limerence" was announced at the time of the release of the 10th anniversary edition of the 1st album "LUST", but was spoiled by the COVID-19 pandemic. The first version of the prototype of this work was completed in 2019, but due to the influence of COVID-19, Faye abandoned the album and released the frustrated industrial metal work "Ressentiment". After this process, he shifted to the current band lineup with bassist Jason and drummer Zachary, and completed the unfinished "Limerence" in a completely new version. The album includes A2 "White Cloud," an intoxicating yet raw, meditative electronica pop that blends shoegaze, Japanese pop, 90s alternative rock, and 2010s indie nuances; A3 "Strawberry Wrist," a fast-paced indie rock song with male and female twin vocals; A4 "Love Will Ruin Us," an emotional song that mixes Meishi Smile's passionate hardcore with 80s new wave; B3 "Limerence," a chill-out electronica song themed around loneliness against capitalism; and B4 "Dragonfly," the most moving number in Meishi Smile's history.
