This is one of those albums that continues to be beloved, with the cover songs becoming like the band's own works.
The 6th album released in 1975. Includes cover songs such as Eagles' "Desperado", The Marvelettes' "Please Mr. Postman", and Neil Sedaka's "Solitaire". "Please Mr. Postman" and "Solitaire" were released as singles.
This is the first album by the Carpenters to be recorded using a 24-track multi-track recorder. Jim Gordon, formerly of Derek and the Dominos, participated in the recording for the first time. Although it did not rank in the top 10 in the US, it was number one in the UK album chart for a total of five weeks. It also reached number one on the Oricon album chart in Japan.
