A 90s R&B album with a deep soul feel
Melissa Morgan, known as a soul diva in the 80s, released her third album, an ambitious piece that revamps her urban R&B sound with a touch of New Jack Swing.
Featuring Gerald Albright, the lead track "Can You Give Me What I Want" reached number 33 on the R&B charts. In addition to their traditional soulful vocals, they introduced a rhythmic approach that was popular at the time, marking a new direction for the band. With Attara Zane Giles as the lead producer, the album features a selection of lustrous mid-tempo tracks.
