Sasaki Yoshi's mellow second album, in which his whispery voice gently envelops the loneliness of the city.
This is the second album by Hokkaido-born singer-songwriter Yoshimi Sasaki, who has invited Shigeru Suzuki and Ryoichi Kuniyoshi to arrange the music. All the songs are written and composed by Sasaki himself, and the album harmonizes the lyrics that capture the subtleties of everyday life with a sophisticated sound.
Sasaki Yoshimi, who gained attention with her debut song "Anata," presents a studio album of original songs written entirely by herself. Her whispery, conversational voice is still alive and well on this album, and her quiet, lingering expressions are combined with urban lyricism. The arrangements by Suzuki Shigeru and Kuniyoshi Ryoichi naturally blend folk-based simplicity with city-pop sophistication, carefully portraying the nuances of the songs. From the soft textures of "Night Scenery" and "Love" to the delicate emotion of "Waiting," and the closing track "In Asakusa," this album quietly brings to life everyday scenes like a collection of short stories.
