A prayer of faith in spring, entrusted to delicate fingertips.

A tranquil and lyrical piano trio work that represents the aesthetics of Bill Evans' later years. A masterpiece that weaves hope amidst despair.

"You Must Believe in Spring" was recorded in 1977 and released in 1981, after Evans' death. It was later reissued as a remastered version in 2003. The album is performed by a trio with masters Eddie Gomez (bass) and Elliot Zigmund (drums), and is centered around Francis Lai's film music, and is full of deep sadness and quiet hope. The atmosphere throughout the album is as if the emotions of loss and rebirth were entrusted to the piano, making it a fitting final chapter of Evans' life. The ephemeral yet powerful melody of the title track "You Must Believe in Spring" gently invites spring into the hearts of listeners.
