This is the debut album and masterpiece of Matsushita Makoto, one of the iconic icons of the city pop boom.
A flawless pop album that perfectly sublimates the Western music (East Coast AOR) of the time.
Matsushita had exhausted pop music with this album released in 1981, but although his later albums had a certain pop feel to them, his sound changed to something far removed from city pop. Even so, the content of this album is truly wonderful. The title song, "FIRST LIGHT," is the ultimate mid-tempo urban mellow song.
