Exploring new musical directions
Manoeuvres is Greg Lake's second studio album as a solo artist and features a guitar-driven sound.
The album is based on progressive rock with a strong pop influence, and Lake's vocals and guitar stand out, especially on tracks like "Haunted." Lake also served as producer, and his musical vision was strongly reflected. However, commercially, it performed worse than the previous album, and Lake himself cited a lack of promotion as the reason.
