A sharp blade unleashed from the underground currents of East Coast hip hop.
A masterpiece that combines DJ Premier's minimal beat with Jeru's hard rap. A monumental piece of 90s underground music.
"Come Clean" is the debut single released in 1993 by Brooklyn-born MC Jeru The Damaja. The composition of Jeru's unique rap over the heavy, spacious beats of DJ Premier shocked the hip-hop world at the time. Distancing himself from the glamour of the mainstream, he weaves in intellectual and socially-conscious lyrics to present the reality of the New York underground. A classic that is passed down as a symbol of "hardcore" hip-hop.
