The interplay of restraint and liberation that dyes the gap between silence and roar in indigo
This piece ambiguously alternates between noise and melody, while simultaneously allowing the lingering echoes of thunderous guitars to coexist with tranquility.
The album strives for a balance between subduing the thunder of the guitars while still making their presence felt. The sharp rhythms of the opening track seem to declare to the listener, "This is more than just alt. rock." Quieter sections allow for subtle shimmering strings and subdued vocals to emerge, utilizing ample space for space. But then, thunderous guitar solos and walls of sound burst forth, skillfully manipulating tension and release. Throughout, the contrast between space and explosive energy between songs is at the heart of the album, and the tension is bound to be bound by the tension and intensity.
