An important EP on the eve of the millennium that marked the process by which Japanese R&B/hip-hop accelerated to an international level.
This ambitious work further pushes the futuristic sound presented in their debut album, "Planet Shining," and boldly incorporates elements of cutting-edge club music at the time, such as hip hop, R&B, house, and 2-step.
As the title "Quantum" suggests, the album features meticulous deconstruction and reconstruction of beats, electronic textures, and a mix that is conscious of space. The sound captures the atmosphere of the Tokyo club scene around 2000, and foreshadows the evolution of m-flo that would later lead to the "loves" series.
