Three of Wataru Takada's early masterpieces, "FISHIN' ON SUNDAY," recorded in Los Angeles with full participation from Haruomi Hosono, and his 80s/90s masterpieces "Neko no Negoto" and "Wataru," are being released on vinyl in limited quantities with the latest remastering!
This 1976 album by folk singer Wataru Takada, who sang satirical lyrics wrapped in humor, is his first recording in Los Angeles. While primarily a trio with producers Haruomi Hosono and Isato Nakagawa, it also features tracks with Van Dyke Parks on piano and Robert Greenwich on steelpan, giving it a Caribbean feel.
Nevertheless, his poignant singing voice and the skillful guitar playing with Isato Nakagawa remain unwavering, making this an early masterpiece that allows listeners to fully appreciate Takada Wataru's unique style.
