The single that CENTRAL will drop this summer is a collection of salsa covers, featuring the mellow soul anthem "Towel" and Mario Biondi's classic "This Is What You Are," all reimagined with CENTRAL's signature style!
CENTRAL, who covered Brazilian Rhyme with a gorgeous horn arrangement last July and sold out immediately, will be releasing a new single after about a year.
This time, we're finally releasing Crazy Ken Band's (CKB) masterpiece "Towel," which was included on the album "Flor De Roble" and received many requests for a single release, as a 7-inch single. This mellow and soulful masterpiece, characteristic of CKB, which was included on the 2007 album "SOUL Denpa," has been reborn as a gorgeous salsa tune by CENTRAL. With a groovy bassline, sharp percussion and piano, and impressive horn arrangements in the background, Taiji sings about the bittersweet scenes of a summer. Furthermore, a colocanta part, which was not in the original song, has been newly added, transforming it into an outstanding Latin number. On side B, we've chosen "This Is WHat You Are," which was included on the album "Handful of Soul" released in 2006 by Mario Biondi, one of Italy's leading singers, on the prestigious SCHEMA label, and whose single release became a smash hit. This is also a cheerful salsa cover! The jacket features an original illustration by manga artist Bambi Kitazawa, beautifully capturing the "summery feel" of this title. This summer's killer salsa single is available in a limited first edition, so don't miss out!
