Ryukyu rare groove by the genius Kiyoshi Yamaya! Kiyoshi Yamaya's "Ryukyu RYUKYU" 7-inch, released exclusively at Okinawa Records in 2018 and immediately sold out, will be re-released nationwide with a new jacket design in 2022, the 50th anniversary of Okinawa's return to Japan.
Kenshing3, who designed the jacket for the previous album, is in charge of the design this time as well.
The LP of Kiyoshi Yamaya's "Ryukyu" reissued in June 2021 sold out immediately after its release. In January 2022, a compilation album of Kiyoshi Yamaya's works, "Wamono Groove: Shakuhachi & Koto Jazz Funk '76", was released by the French label 180g. In addition, a compilation of folk music rare grooves featuring Kiyoshi Yamaya's works is in preparation for release by a British label, and the popularity of Kiyoshi Yamaya is becoming global. This 7-inch was the starting point of this movement.
