The Beatles' last number one song.
Released in 1970, this was a re-cut single from the album "Let It Be." It was the band's 20th and final number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The B-side was "For You Blue," written and sung by George Harrison, who also included the album "Let It Be."
Producer Phillip Spector's orchestral and choir overdubbing of the song upset Paul McCartney, leading to a lawsuit demanding the band's dissolution and dissolution of their partnership with Apple Inc. In the end, the song was released with a simpler arrangement closer to the original concept.
