This is the first album by a nationally beloved artist in Japan, to the point that some people say, "I listen to the songs a lot, but I don't know the titles or the artist's name."
The first album released in 1978. The Japanese title is "Starry Sky Pianist". It contains 11 songs including the smash hit "Ballade Pour Adeline" which was released in 38 countries and sold 22 million copies.
As if going against the disco sound boom of the time, the method of "playing simple, beautiful melodies on the piano" became popular, and this work was one of the leading works in the "easy listening" boom, a type of music that was somewhere between classical and pop.
