Lisa Ono's bossa nova masterpiece "Pretty World," released in 2000, has been long-awaited and released on vinyl for the first time to commemorate the 25th anniversary of its release.
The album was recorded in New York with producer Eumier Deodato, who is also known for the soundtrack to the film 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Starting with "A MAN AND WOMAN," the familiar song by Francis Lai, who sang in French for the first time, the album includes Frank Sinatra's masterpiece "ALL THE WAY," Tony Bennett's classic "I LEFT MY HEART IN SAN FRANCISCO," and other 60s to 80s pop classics by The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, and The Police. Lisa Ono's original song "Be With Me" is also included. With a brisk urban rhythm section and elegant arrangement, it exudes a cool, grown-up groove, and the sound and vocals subtly pay tribute to the classic songs.
