Richter (March 20, 1915 - August 1, 1997) was called the greatest pianist of the 20th century.
When it was first released, this album attracted a lot of attention as Richter's first recording of Mozart's piano sonatas.
The performance expresses Mozart's pure and innocent beauty in a playful and mature manner, while at the same time conveying a sense of human warmth. Recorded in London, March 1989.
