The theme song of the movie that became a social phenomenon.
The 10th single released in 1984. It was the theme song for the movie "Footloose" released in the same year and topped the Billboard Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks, and was also ranked 4th on the yearly chart. In Japan, it was a huge hit, topping the Oricon Western singles chart for four consecutive weeks.
This song is one of Kenny Loggins' signature songs, along with "Danger Zone." Although it was a hit all over the world, it unfortunately lost to Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called to Say I Love You," the theme song for "The Woman in Red," for the 1985 Academy Award for Best Original Song.
