This album is rough around the edges but shines with a strong individuality that can be said to be the band's origins.
This is Little Feat's debut album, which sublimated southern American roots rock with a unique sensibility and would go on to influence many musicians.
Overall, the sound is still rough around the edges, and the refined grooves and funky elements that would later emerge are toned down, but the band's foundational style of "simmering a variety of Southern American music in one pot" is already emerging.
