"Our Love Samba," one of the greatest French jazz bossa masterpieces, is back on vinyl for the first time in the world! It also includes the melancholic jazz bossa "Dominique Is Here" on the B-side.
The latest remastered sound source for vinyl was used, using new master material for the 7" single.
Danny Doriz, a leading French vibraphonist whose career dates back to the 1950s, is a true professional who has performed in Europe with Jean-Luc Ponty and Stéphane Grappelli, as well as frequently touring the US with Memphis Slim and Lionel Hampton. His 1969 album, "Dany Doriz," recorded with his own orchestra, is a hidden gem, featuring everything from jazz bossa to modal jazz and killer jazz dance. From this masterpiece, we present a dream 7" single featuring two tracks: "A1. La Bossa-Nova de Notre Amour (Our Love Samba)," one of the greatest French jazz samba tracks, featuring a gorgeous up-tempo jazz bossa rhythm and a happy female scat singing. Another track, "B1. Si Dominique Etait La (If Dominique Is Here)," is a touching, melancholic bossa jazz track, featuring a lovely female scat singing, cool vibes, and a dramatic melody. The album itself was originally released on an indie label founded by a French association of blind musicians, making it a rare work with limited circulation. Two other 7" singles were also distributed around the same time as promotional copies, and the two tracks featured on this single were the A-sides of each. These dazzling and elegant tracks from the album are reissued on powerful 7" singles with the latest remastering!
