A classic album by a soul vocal group from Kansas City (recorded in Chicago), a place that couldn't really be said to have been booming in soul music back in 1976, is being reissued!
This is the only album released by Smoke, a quartet including Larry Brown, who was also a member of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, and Melvin Manning, the younger brother of Marva Whitney, on the J. Bridge label.
The 1996 P-Vine reissue LP is becoming increasingly expensive, and now it's being reissued again. In addition to the killer ballad "I'm So Lonely," which is over 8 minutes long, the medium tune is also superb, typical of Chicago!
