Sviatoslav Richter (March 20, 1915 - August 1, 1997) was hailed as the greatest pianist of the 20th century.
The Prelude exudes a poetic feeling from each performance, and the Sonata in B minor shows deep spiritual expression and the strength of his unfading technique. Both performances are powerful and persuasive.
