This studio album marked the return of Brian Wilson and explored a new direction for the band. Produced by Bruce Johnston, it introduced elements of AOR and disco. Mellow tracks like "Good Timin'" and "Lady Lynda" feature beautiful choruses, while "Here Comes the Night" was re-recorded as a disco version, clocking in at over 10 minutes. It was an ambitious endeavor that shocked existing fans.
