A powerful work from the late '80s that combines funk and guitar rock.
A solo work by Jesse Johnson, known as the guitarist for The Time, this is an exquisite blend of funk groove and pop rock.
This is the third solo album from Jesse Johnson, a guitarist from the Prince family. In addition to the Minneapolis funk of his previous albums, this album features a stronger guitar-driven rock element. Tracks like "Crazay" and "I'm Just Wanting You" feature a visceral rhythm and sophisticated melody. The synth bass and horn arrangements are gorgeous, evoking the perfected sound of '80s funk. His vocals are expressive, making this album a standout among artists directly descended from Prince.
