This album once again showcases the appeal of the "vocal ensemble" that the Swingle Singers have cultivated.

An important work from the early 1970s that transcends the boundaries between classical and pop music and explores the possibilities of pure "vocal ensemble."

As the title suggests, the theme of this album is "the joy of singing." Rather than flaunting transcendental technique, the light and transparent chorus work accentuates the beauty of the melody itself. Each part functions like an instrument, with the bass keeping a steady rhythm and the soprano painting the melody with a crystal-clear tone. The scat sound, which transcends words, conveys the pure energy of the music.
