A masterpiece album from a UK band that captivated the world in the 1990s.
This is the fifth album released in 1997. It reached number one in the UK, but thanks to the success of the single "Song 2" it was able to overcome the insurmountable obstacles that stood in its way in the US.
The first track on this album, "Beetlebum," was released as a pre-release single, and is a psychedelic song that seems to express the fatigue of the heated Britpop boom and the dark side of the mental state of escaping into drugs. The band itself has also moved away from Britpop, and with this album their musical style has become closer to the US.
