This is the highly anticipated new album from Karavi Roushi, the rapper who suddenly burst onto the Japanese hip-hop scene with his masterpiece "Kiyosumi Kurokawa."
As with the previous work, Aquadab was in charge of sound design, and the work was created through close interaction between the rapper and track maker.
Karavi Roushi appeared on the scene as a member of Nagoya hip-hop collective Hydro Brain Gang, participating in Nero Imai's wonderful album "Return Of Acid King" (2017). He then launched the label "Super Lights" with Aquadab, and released his first solo album "Kiyosumi Kurokawa" in 2019 with designer Takara Ohashi. Despite being an unknown newcomer, he ranked 15th overall on iTunes Hip Hop Japan Albums, and shocked us not only with his music but also with the total art shown in the CD cover designed by Ohashi. In addition, "Tokyoite", released on the compilation "SDS =Zero=" (2020) produced during the COVID-19 pandemic, became a favorite/secret anthem for the participating artists. This work "BLADE N" was created by this team of three people with a delicate glasswork-like quality. They consciously changed the musical methodology, actively adopted counter melodies that interfere with the rapper's voice and flow, which were previously prohibited, and with tracks with complex sounds, they ask whether rappers and track makers can truly create an equal relationship. Karavi Roushi's supernatural voice, which sometimes sounds like a synth machine, adds sharpness, and in the artwork, Ohashi visually extracts the story world hidden in "BLADE N," which begins with the first track, "Don't die," giving it the same impact as "Kiyosumi Kurokawa." Notable features of this work include Kuroyagi, who is also in the spotlight for his collaboration with rawbai, ORIVA, who sings about the emotional subtleties of the heart, and CJ CAL of The Sexorcist led by Nipps, and Synthetic participates in one song as a co-producer on the sound side.
