The first album was released in 1982 by Yen Records, a label run by Haruomi Hosono.
"Interior" was formed by Daisuke Hinata and Hideki Nonaka, who were classmates at Berklee College of Music. Their musical style, which adds an emotional flavor to instrumental synth pop based on "ambient music" and "environmental music" techniques, has attracted the attention of Windham Hill Records, a representative of the US New Age music scene.
